Mape-Zumalai
editaHello! Can someone explain to me, how is it possible, that Mape-Zumalai is a subdistrict of Kovalima (just like here and on this official document), but all maps, I found, are showing the cities of Mape and Zumalai in the district of Ainaru (distritu)? --J. - OK, I found the reason. All district maps are not up to date. They are from UN-time. Here is a map with the new district borders:[1] I will make same new maps, but it will take time. Does anybody know, when Mape-Zumalai came to Cova Lima? Must be after 2002. --J. Patrick Fischer 18:27, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
It may very well be that the UN maps are incorrect in this detail because, as far as I know, there has been no sub-district change recently. The present-day East-Timorese districts are a direct legacy from the Portuguese municipalities (concelhos or municípios). Under the Indonesian rule the municipalities saw their names changed into "districts" (like they have it in Indonesia) and just made two minor changes:
- The sub-district of Turiscai (or Turiskai) was transferred from Ainaro (or Ainaru) district to Manufahi;
- As a compensation, the Hato Udo (or Hatu Udu) sub-district was taken from Manufahi and given to Ainaro (Ainaru).

Olá! Please check the links of my first post and compare the borders. This is an official document, giving a list of all Sucos of East Timor (Change of 2003). Mape and Zumalai are now part of Cova Lima. Another change was in the borders between Baucau and Viqueque, but here I don't know which Sucos changed. By the way: Even the number of Sucos changed. --J. Patrick Fischer 18:39, 15 September 2006 (UTC)
